A78 year old male presents with a history of feeling generally unwell. He says he has lost weight and puts it down to not eating properly as he has pain in his jaw when he eats. He has seen his dentist who has not found any abnormality. He also says he is finding it difficult to climb stairs and get out of bed and rise from the seated position and needs help from the carers at the nursing home he lives in.

ESR 84 mm in the 1st hour
